The rapidly growing town of Morrisville, NC knew that improving their aquatic center was a top priority. In fact, a whopping 74% of the population approved a bond to support renovating the facility. Renovations and additions to the facility delivered 2 indoor/outdoor pools, gym, weight room and group fitness classrooms, updated locker rooms and mechanical spaces.

A new, partial two-story 30,500 SF community center built on a steep slope with a structural steel frame supporting a steel beam and concrete slab second floor and a bar joist roof. The gymnasium portion of the building was constructed with precast concrete exterior wall panels supporting a bar joist roof. A special window in the corner of the masonry building required some creative steel solutions–and you know LM was up to the challenge!

Surrounded by glass and featuring a retractable roof enclosure, the new 12,000 SF natatorium includes 2 new pools and additional water features like a splash pad and kiddie pool.
