When Credit Suisse wanted to expand their corporate campus in Morrisville, NC they knew they needed modern amenities, support for new and emerging work styles, and a commitment to sustainability. The result is a new 205,000 SF, four-story office building that’s equipped with smart working capabilities, security technology, a conference center, outdoor amenities, and achieved LEED Gold Certification. Part of the outdoor space included a long pedestrian bridge to connect the two building, which Lynch Mykins designed using mass timber construction.
LM chose a structural steel frame consisting of wide flange columns supporting composite steel floor beams and composite slab on metal deck. Lateral loads are resisted through steel braced frames in combination with moment frames.
