Preston Kalina
BIM Manager/Artisan of Superstructure Likenesses

Young Preston, expert in the disciplines of math and science, was also fascinated with buildings. Landing in a field where he gets to combine the three only seems natural. There’s a kind of magic that happens with modeling. Preston takes what was once a flat, linear drawing of a structure, and morphs it into an image that you can almost feel and touch.

There are more than a few projects he finds significant. He takes special pride in working on the Sanford Creek Elementary School because it was the school his children would eventually attend. Then there was Broughton Hospital, a project of daunting size and scope. He found that trusting in the process and collaborating with the team produced a solid set of construction documents.

When Preston isn’t leading the BIM team, he enjoys following the Green Bay Packers, coaching baseball, and hanging with his kids. They’re also a hockey family–you’ll find him criss-crossing the country with huge bags of sports gear in tow. He’s not afraid to take the stage and sing some bad karaoke. And if you challenge him to a game of darts, you’ve been warned!
