The “Old Clerk’s Office” in front of the circa 1825 Historic Courthouse in Surry County, VA is now home to the Visitors Center. This 500 SF historic renovation project, and adjacent restroom building, allows visitors to experience the rich history of the county while planning activites and visits to nearby attractions.

The renovation included the removal of a modern cast-in-place concrete slab on grade and restoration of the original wood framed floor over a crawl space, with required ventilation openings in the exterior walls. It also included repair of the brick veneer and stabilization of the existing foundations.
