This is not the camp you remember growing up! Camp Kanata, part of the YMCA of the Triangle, needed to update and upgrade their dining hall – while keeping kitchen operations functional at all times. Phased construction and working around occupied spaces is nothing new to LM and the design team, so we used the initial condition assessment to ensure seamless operations.

On a base of structural steel framing for the roof and elevator floor framing, the new building melds elegantly into the site as two A-frame structures linked by a glass connector. A terraced stair / seating area on the south side adds additional functionality to the site.
