Michael Behm, EIT
Design Engineer/Clark Kent

A curious mind and a love for finding solutions to interesting problems is what led Michael to become a Structural Investigator…and then a Design Engineer! His most challenging project has been the Sandler Center, a project being built at the same time design was being done. Michael worked closely with the general contractor and engineer to coordinate design, shop drawings and verify construction was matching the latest contract documents. The challenges were overcome by Michael, the general contractor, and the engineer in charge of design working closely together as a problem-solving unit.

When you ask Michael which part of the Lynch Mykins process, “Calculate. Collaborate. Create.” he identifies most with, he quickly replies, “Collaborate.” He believes that collaboration creates an excellent environment. He finds collaborative projects are more enjoyable to work on and everyone contributing their special skill set is a recipe for success.

Time away from the office is spent cooking, particularly Mexican food and slow smoked BBQ, hiking, climbing and camping. In fact, Michael has climbed the highest mountains in 25 of our 50 states, so far! He loves to travel and Shenandoah National Park is one of his favorite places to camp. Oh, don’t forget to ask him about chunkin’ punkins’.
