Jeff Rayhorn
BIM Coordinator/Purveyor of Friday Funnies

With over 25 years of structural engineering experience, Jeff is a treasure trove of knowledge. He would advise junior engineers to spend as much time as possible in the field since field time provides knowledge of the construction process that you can’t get in a classroom or even your office.

Jeff credits his slightly OCD personality for guiding him toward the field of engineering. Everything equally spaced and at 90-degree angles puts a smile on his face. His favorite project to date has been the Holtzman Alumni Center at Virginia Tech because of its diversity, large spans, and unique construction. Jeff’s most challenging project? The 12 water towers at Camp Lejeune, NC, required that he climb and inspect all 12 towers over a 2-day period. Physically grueling is an understatement!

Guiding his third daughter to adulthood without loss of life (his, hers, or potential suitors) is Jeff’s passion away from the office. One of his passions in the office is his famous/infamous Friday Funnies email series where every Friday we all open our emails to find an assortment of comics, humor, and sometimes NSFW jokes. In his remaining time, he enjoys photography and his five dogs. He’s always happy to tell you all about them. Little known fact about Jeff? He’s the best drummer that never was.
