Delaney Ortiz, PE, SE
Senior Project Engineer/Wannabe Wilderness Scout

Delaney is an engineer who’s driven by her heart. Her career path was shaped by a need to help people. When she learned about the amount of poverty that stems from a lack of basic resources, she saw an opportunity to make a difference by creating the buildings and infrastructure communities need.

Delaney loves the “Collaborate” part of Lynch Mykins’ brand. Even better, are the relationships and friendships that develop when everyone comes together to deliver a project. Her most enjoyable project to date has been the sound pavilion for the City of Raleigh. The roof was constructed entirely of wooden canoes turned upside down. Delaney loved the creative concept and it spoke to her love of kayaking and canoeing!

Away from the office, Delaney can be found spending time with her husband and dogs, crocheting, playing Ultimate frisbee, and occasionally enjoying a craft beer. She’s also a rabid Duke fan (cue the boos and the cheers). When Delaney was twelve, she and her dance team proudly represented the United States at an international cultural festival in Beijing! It’s safe to say, she’s got moves (HINT: you can see them in LM flash mobs!)
