Position Overview

This level is for an individual with some specialized technology relating to Revit, such as an Associate Degree, or an individual generally with 2 or more years of structural experience, who has grown sufficiently in knowledge and level of responsibility.

Typical Duties:

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver quality products on schedule.

• Works from Architectural drawings and Engineer's sketches to produce computer-generated plans and details.

• Maintains neat and orderly work area which will allow access to project information to other team members.

• Assignments of increasing difficulty will be submitted as proficiency is increased.

• Can analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.

• Understands and follows the company's standard BIM/CADD procedures for layering, standard details, general notes, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.

• Individuals are flexible and may work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.

• Coordinates details and dimensions between drawing sheets.

• Keeps BIM Services Director or Project Engineer aware of work load and requests work when needed.

• Assists in transferring shop drawing comments.

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of BIM/CADD standards and typical details.

• Develops framing plans and some details for simple projects with only general input from the Project Engineer.

• Has learned to manage time well and has demonstrated an understanding of maintaining project budgets and schedules.

• May assist in field investigations of existing structures.

Relationship to Others:

Under the general supervision of Lead Engineer. Work assignments, answers to design questions.
